Public Safety

West Hollywood residents deserve to feel safe. To make West Hollywood safer, we must work collaboratively and effectively and focus both on mitigation efforts to prevent crime before it happens as well as increased patrols.

To mitigate crime, we must protect and enhance our social services programs, maintain our rental assistance program and prioritize mental health and substance abuse resources. We must also encourage our residents as well as our businesses to join in keeping our streets safe by expanding our neighborhood watch groups, encouraging parents and neighbors to participate in neighborhood watches and incentivizing business "hardening" with cameras and additional security guards. We must also increase foot patrols in our neighborhoods as well as in our commercial corridors and add cameras to our stop lights and increase the brightness of our street lights.

Finally, we must continue to host community town halls around public safety and community well-being to receive feedback on how our residents can feel even safer.
